I've had a total of 7 hours sleep (combined) since Saturday. I think I've forgotten how. Go me!!!
This always seems to happen around this time. I remember one Thanksgiving where I was sent home from work "to get some rest" after being up for 5 days straight. |

| Adam at the 2009 American Music Awards |

I was truly amazed by Adam Lambert's performance on the American Music Awards last night - it had my heart racing, the adrenaline rush left me feeling spent, and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. I loved his song 'For Your Entertainment' beforehand, but it seemed much edgier and dynamic live. I feel like we're seeing more of the old pre-idol Adam now, which is what I've been really longing for.
Just one of the many reasons why I love this man so damn much!!!!!!

This was originally part of a comment I had left for someone, but I think it sums up my feelings regarding OUT magazine's open letters to Adam. After much reading, my opinion seems to have shifted slightly to a more neutral zone.
I understand that Adam and his label strive to remain professional by not going too over-the-top, and it's their purpose to market him in the best way possible, but I also worry that they might be more controlling of him than we realize. This happens a lot in the industry, and the fact it was brought up makes me think that his management may have gone beyond the normal standards of practice. If that's the case, then I'm glad it was brought to light.
However, I do think it could have been handled in a more tactful manner, and should have been included in a later issue as a follow-up. To me, that would show that OUT wasn't just trying to drum up some controvery for sales, and were honestly just getting the word out there. I think it would have given them a lot more credibility.
While I don't expect him to be the poster boy for the gay rights movement, I also don't want him to have to filter himself, or put on a false exterior prompted by his label. I guess that's all part of the biz though. |

| A tale of two thugs |

Two thuggish guys were walking down the alley yesterday, swearing and kicking shit. I have no idea what they were talking about, as I could only hear one of them plainly, the other guy just sort of nodded and agreed with him.
Thug #1: You should've taped her hands before you went in, and then taped the door. And, I'm not talking Scotch tape here, if you know what I mean. (laughs) I'd be all, "I'm going to rock your world". |

Last night, Joel and I were having a discussion about all the garbage and plastic that's floating out at sea, and how it's poisoning the wildlife. This made me think about a book called Serendipity, where a pink sea creature finds a lot of garbage, and his calling as a guardian of the seas. Then I rambled on about how I met Stephen Cosgrove and Robin James at a holiday charity event when I was a kid. The series was fairly new, so as a promotion they were giving out free books to the kids; they gave me a copy of 'Serendipity', and my cousin got 'Wheedle on the Needle'.
 
These are the covers that I remember!
Tonight, we went out for dinner and swung by Barnes & Noble to look for a copy of DETAILS magazine; which I finally found. As I was walking in, I saw a disply for Wheedle on the Needle; Stephen Cosgrove and Robin James will be making an appearance at the store on Nov. 12th in honor of it's 35th anniversary (gasp)!!!
How weird is that though? |

Sunday afternoon I made my farewell to Seattle's Fun Forest, and rode on all of my favorite rides one last time; ok, I rode the Wild River twice. I ran into my sister Melissa and her friend Patrick while there; he was working as a human statue.
 
She asked a worker about the park closing, and he said it was news to him. She mentioned that it was posted on the website, and he shrugged,"Oh? I guess so then?". Did he not get the memo; did they not tell the workers? So, she emailed the Fun Forest, and they said that they're going to give it ONE MORE WEEK!!! |

Me: I'm at a dilemma, there's two things I really want to do this weekend. One thing I might not ever have a chance to do again, and the other is something similar. *grins*
Joel: So, you're planning on going to his (Adam's) video shoot tomorrow?
Me: OMG, did you seriously think that? *lol* I just want to go to the Seattle Center before they shut down the Fun Forest. Plus, the Sausage Fest is going on.
Joel: [jokingly] Uh huh...
FYI the Fun Forest will be closing on Sunday (Oct.4) |
